He has been a part of a reality comedy TV show, Guy Code. He even wrote a well-recognized book called, ‘Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes To Those Who Create It.’
Recently, Charlamagne Tha God, in partnership with iHeartRadio, launched the Black Effect Podcast Network. The Network has made history as it is the first podcast network exclusively and dedicated entirely to black listeners especially on such a large scale. It is sponsored by PepsiCo and OMD Worldwide.
The podcast will invite influential and recognized people in the black community to talk about countless different topics including mental health, social justice, sports, comedy, and pop culture.
The main purpose of this podcast illuminate, amplify and empower black talent and give them a platform where they can showcase their skills and to discuss and bring light to topics and issues that affect the black community in particular.
The podcast will be anchored by Charlamagne’s own show ‘The Breakfast Club’ and the shows on this podcast network will be distributed through iHeart Podcast Network.
When talking to media, Charlamagne shared the reasoning behind this venture, “Blackness controls the cool. Blackness is the culture, but Black Voices are not monolithic. The only way to appreciate the diversity of thought and experiences in Black culture is to build a platform for those voices to be heard.”
